    I am a geomorphologist specializing on Holocene landscape evolution of eolian and fluvial environments. Within that context, I am interested in paleoenvironmental change and the human impact on geomorphic processes. My current research is centered in Michigan, where I am working mostly on the geomorphic history of sand dunes, both in the interior of the state and along the shore of Lake Michigan.  In addition, my students and I are trying to reconstruct the post-glacial evolution of portions of the Manistee and Muskegon Rivers in northwest lower Michigan.  I teach a variety of courses at Michigan State, with the majority related to physical geography and geomorphology, and am a member of the Association of American Geographers, Geological Society of America, American Quaternary Association, International Quaternary Association, and Sigma Xi.  If you would like to learn more about my background and interests, please check out the following links:
