Biography: I grew up on a small farm in Mason County, Michigan.  I graduated from Mason County Eastern High School in 1961. Attended Northwestern Michigan Community College (1962-1964) in Traverse City, and then transferred to Michigan State University. Earned a BS in Soil Science (Agronomy) in 1966.  I was awarded a MA in Geography from Michigan State University in 1969.
I taught at Lansing Community College from 1969 until retirement in 2001. Since 2001 I have been a Visiting Professor of Geography at Michigan State University teaching undergraduate classes.  The classes that I have taught are; GEO 204- World Regional,  GEO 333- Geography of Michigan, GEO 330-Geography of  the United States, GEO 336-Geography of Europe, ISS 310-People and the Environment and ISS 315-Global Diversity and Interdependence.

Research Interests: I presently devote most of my time to teaching and energy to teaching undergraduate classes. My research interest focuses mostly upon the public land survey system in Michigan. I am the Executive Producer of a video entitled Surveying Michigan, 1991, 28mins.  In the book Michigan Geography and Geology 2009, I wrote Chap. 28, The United States Public Land Survey System.
