HURON MOUNTAINS


On the digital elevation model shown below, the Huron Mountains are located in the vicinity of the "X"

The Peshekee Highlands have thin soils over hard, crystalline bedrock.  Past glaciers have scraped this landscape "clean", leaving little drift behind for the soils to form in.  Thus, areas of bare rock are commonplace.
