Students wishing to use Geography as a minor for elementary or secondary teacher certification must register with the undergraduate advisor in the Department of Geography and have their programs approved prior to the beginning of their junior year.
A teaching minor in Geography requires a minimum of 22 credits:
- GEO 113 Economic Geography OR GEO 151 Cultural Geography, 3 credits
- GEO 204 World Regional Geography, 3 credits
- GEO 206 Physical Geography, 3 credits
- GEO 206L Physical Geography Laboratory, 1 credit
- GEO 221 Introduction to Gegraphic Information, 3 credits
- GEO 330 Geography of the United States and Canada, 3 credits
- GEO 330 Geography of Michigan and the Great Lakes Region, 3 credits
- One additional 300- or 400-level Geography course, 3 credits
Total of 22 credits in Geography
