Bill Manson, Michigan Snowmobile Association Bill has been snowmobiling since 1976 when he moved from Grand Rapids to Rockford. He usually rode his brothers Skiroul, or his wife´s uncle Evenrude. In 1980, became a proud owner of two new Ski-Doos, and he and his wife Debra were off. Tired of going in circles in his yard, he joined the North Kent Snowmobile Club in 1980. That is when he started to learn about organized snowmobiling. Bill Manson soon became a member of the board of directors of the club. He soon learned of an organization called the Western Michigan Snowmobile Council (WMSC) which was trying to connect the club trails south of Grand Rapids to the North Kent trails and beyond. In 1983 he became treasurer of WMSC. While attending those meetings the president of the WMSC introduced him to the president of the newly formed Michigan Snowmobile Association (MSA), and took him to a MSA board meeting. While there, he also learned of a larger national group called the International Snowmobile Council. The full vacuum was formed and Bill Manson was hooked forever into organized snowmobiling. Bill´s recent associations with organized snowmobiling include (but are not limited to): Vice President American Council of Snowmobile Association (1996-97), President ACSA (1998-99), Chairman International Snowmobile Council (ISC), Chair Emeritus (ISC), and Chair Legislative Committee, Michigan Snowmobile Association (MSA). |
