Enviro-Weather Project
use of real-time weather information for agricultural decision-making

Enviro-Weather ProjectEnviro-Weather, an MSU-based system to provide basic weather data, integrated pest management models, natural resource and production models, forecasts and related links for specific commodities began operation in 2006. The products on this web-based system (see: http://www.enviroweather.msu.edu/) are designed to aid agriculture and the green industries in making management decisions.

The Michigan Automated Weather Network (MAWN) based at Michigan State University collects and supplies the data from the weather stations while MSU scientists have created or adapted the decision-making models for Michigan conditions. The system  is a collaborative project between the Michigan Climatological Resources Program and the MSU Integrated Pest Management Program as supported by Project GREEEN, the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, MSU Extension, private donors, and MSU departments of Crop & Soil Sciences, Entomology, Forestry, Geography, Horticulture, and Plant Pathology along with HortSystems, Inc.

Funding for the system is provided by the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, MSU Extension, and Project GREEEN.
