The Michigan Automated Weather Network (MAWN)
The Michigan Automated Weather Network (MAWN) is comprised of 48 automated weather stations located across the State of Michigan, allowing users continual, timely access to real-time data. Aimed at the state's large agricultural industry, the network is operated to provide information for weather-dependent managerial decisions, and ultimately, economic gain. In addition, the network helps to encourage new research and the development of technologies related to weather directly, through topics such as the potential utility of detailed weather information and reduction of weather-related risk, and indirectly, through related topics such as new weather-dependent Integrated Crop Management (ICM) strategies and methodologies. MAWN provides information over the internet 24 hours per day, 7 days per week at http://www.agweather.geo.msu.edu/.
