Founded in 1960, the MSU African Studies Center is one of nine Title VI National Resource Centers on Africa designated by the U.S. Department of Education, based on the Center's 150 research faculty providing broad research, teaching, and service on the continent. Answering complex problems requires collaborative efforts. Environmental science and policy demands flexibility, creativity, and knowledge drawn from many fields. This holds true for students shaping their education or for professionals seeking solutions to practical problems. Michigan State University has created a program that is more about access, less about barriers. Interdisciplinary science for better decisions, for creative solutions, and for choices and balance for the future. ESPP is composed of nearly 160 faculty from 11 colleges across campus, including faculty renowned worldwide for innovation and leadership in their fields. | ||

Center for Global Change and Earth Observations is an interdisciplinary research center sponsored by the Colleges of Social Science, Natural Science and Agriculture and Natural Resources, in collaboration with the Michigan Agricultural Research Station and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies. Faculty from across the university participate in research focused on the study of patterns and processes of global environmental change, from global to local scales. Center research uses geospatial information technologies and earth observation satellites to measure, analyze and predict the human and physical processes of global environmental change. The goal of the Center is to strengthen interdisciplinary approaches for understanding global change at all scales using the tools of both the social and physical sciences. | ||
