Curious about the world around you?
Would current geographical knowledge help you in your career, degree, or everyday life? Could learning about the world around you help you as an educator, person in business, student, gardener, traveler, etc.? Do you want to learn about global, regional, or local issues? Do you like to travel? Would you like to explore the world's physical and human landscapes?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you are not alone. Join the thousands of students to take Virtual Geography courses at State to find out what a better understanding of the world can do for you.

The Department of Geography at MSU offers three Virtual courses that aim to educate students about the world we live in. You can learn about the Earth's physical landscapes and processes (GEO 206-V), or human and physical landscapes as they are found throughout the world (GEO 204-V) or North America (GEO 330-V), or the many exciting interactions among people and their environments (ISS 310-V), or techniques used for remotely sensing the environment (GEO 324-V).

Another benefit to taking Virtual Geography (VG) courses is convenience. Our Virtual courses are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for during each Summer Session at MSU. Many students choose to take our Virtual courses because they fit conveniently into their work, family, vacation, and academic schedules, while other students enjoy not having to commute to class and being able to work at home or abroad over the summer.

We invite you to explore the VG website to learn more about our courses. If your questions are not answered on the FAQ page or the course pages (navigation bar is at the top of this page), please contact Beth Weisenborn.

We hope you join us in exploring the world of Virtual Geography at Michigan State University!
