GEOGRAPHY 206-V: Physical Geography
The primary purpose of Physical Geography is to provide students with an overview of the physical environment in which we live. Toward that end, a variety of topics are covered -- many of which are interconnected.
This course is designed to make you more aware of local and regional environments, and the global environment as a whole. Specifically, it aims to provide you with:
- an awareness of the important concepts, facts, and terminology of physical geography;
- an introduction into the way natural systems function at global and regional scales;
- an appreciation of the interrelationships between humans and their environment; and
- a substantial foundation that is needed for further studies in physical geography and is supplementary to studies in human geography.
This course is ideal for students wishing to develop a fundamental understanding of Earth systems and gain a greater appreciation for the physical landscapes around them. It also provides a very useful foundation for the other (online and lecture) Geography courses.
When is GEO 206-V offered?
At least one section of the course is offered during the First and Second Summer Sessions; it may also be offered during the Spring Semester. See the Schedule of Courses for more details.
