Welcome to Physical Geography!

The primary purpose of this course is to provide you with an overview of the physical environment in which we live. Toward that end, a variety of topics will be covered. As you work your way through the course, keep in mind that many of the topics are interrelated. In other words, one concept leads into another. In addition, remember that the course is constructed within the following context:

  1. An awareness of the important concepts, facts and terminology of physical geography
  2. An introduction into the way natural systems function at global and regional scales
  3. An appreciation of the interrelationships between humans and their environment

At this time, please visit and read through the Help-Setup Page, so that your computer is properly configured for rest of the course. After you have setup your computer, please return to this introduction page and take a few minutes to listen to the official welcome by Dr. Arbogast (the message requires Quicktime Movie Player, which you should have already set up).

Once last thing before getting started...it's important that you read both the course syllabus and schedule. These pages contain information concerning how the class operates, who to contact with questions, and a time table for what is expected of you (lessons, assignments, exams, etc.). Do not hesitate to contact your Instructor via email with any questions.

When you are finished with this introduction, you're ready to jump into the web portion of the class. Use the "Lesson" link on the top menu or the links below to navigate to Lesson 0: Introduction. We hope that you enjoy the experience.
