Welcome to the online version of Geography 221, the Introduction to Geographic Information! Thank you for signing up for Geography 221-V. Some of you have done so because it is a required course, some of you out of interest. Regardless, we hope that you will learn a lot about geography's unique perspective for studying world problems and processes, and the tools that geographers use to learn more about our planet. By the end of this class, we think you will see that geographic perspectives and tools can vastly improve our understanding of the world around us. This course is a prerequisite for many of the upper level cartography, GIS, and remote sensing courses offered by Department of Geography at Michigan State University. It is also a required course for other programs at State, including Teaching Education. Dr. Kirk Goldsberry |
